Admissions
Starting at Kirton Primary School
We would like to extend a warm welcome to prospective families looking for a Reception Class place in September 2026.
We know how important it is to parents when choosing a school for their children and are keen to invite you to visit our school. At Kirton Primary School we do not hold specific open days as feel it is important that prospective parents see our school on a usual school day.
Admissions at this time are for parents of nursery age children (who were born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022) if you have a child who falls into the age range above they are due to start school in September 2026 and you must apply for a primary school place for them to start in Reception.
If you would like to book a visit to our school to meet Miss Wells, Assistant Headteacher and tour the building, please contact the school office on 01205 722236 to arrange an appointment.
We look forward to meeting you.
If you are unable to book a visit, please enjoy our virtual tour of the school where you can view a Reception classroom and the provision in our outdoor area. Please note that the tour was originally published in 2021, so some details may have changed slightly since then.
Admission Arrangements
Admissions to Nursery are administered by the school directly, and follow the same criteria that the local authority use for school admissions. If your child receives a place in our Nursery, this is not a guarantee of a place in Reception.
If you wish your child to attend Reception at Kirton Primary School, you will need to apply for a place and follow the full admissions procedures as detailed at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-admissions

Application Dates

National Offer Day – Reception Places
National Offer Day for Reception places is 16 April. If you applied online through Lincolnshire County Council, you will receive your school place offer by email on this day. If you applied using a paper form, your offer will be sent by post and may arrive a few days later.
Once you receive your offer, you do not need to confirm acceptance with the council as it is automatically assumed you will accept the place. If you have been offered a place at our school, we will contact you with further information about starting school and upcoming transition activities.
Mid-year Applications
If your child needs to start or change primary school during the academic year, you will need to make a mid-year application through Lincolnshire County Council. This applies to children joining any year group outside of the normal school admissions process. Further information and details on how to apply can be found on the Lincolnshire County Council website.
